Medical Acupuncture(Dry Needling)

Medical acupuncture is used along side massage and involves the insertion of fine needles into muscular trigger points. Research shows that this is effective in inhibiting pain transmission, increasing local blood flow to the area and reducing muscular tension.

Sports Massage

A treatment in which the body's soft tissues are manipulated in order to improve flexibility, enhance sports performance and reduce the risk of injury. This type of massage focuses on an individual's specific requirements and can help to promote recovery after injury.

Pre-event sports massage can stimulate circulation, calm nervous tension, improve performance and help prepare the athlete for optimal performance.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style Cupping. It differs by specifically targeting the Musculo-Skeletal system rather than the meridian systems used by traditional Chinese practitioners. It also uses plastic cups and vacuum suction rather than glass cups and a naked flame to create suction. A hand operated vacuum pump is used to induce a vacuum inside a cylinder sealed to the skin by the use of oil or cream. The vacuum “draws” the soft tissue perpendicular to the skin thus providing a tensile force to the soft tissue system, which can be left in one site for a prolonged period or moved along the tissue.

Remedial Massage

Massage may be found to bring relief from everyday aches, reduce stress, increase relaxation, address feelings of anxiety and tension, and aid general wellness. It can also be used in support of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries.

Testimonials

Hi Chris, just to say thanks for all the treatments this year - I claimed my best international result this weekend, 6th in the A-Final at the European Championships. The Tape also came in handy! Thanks again

Amy Turner, GB Kayaking

"Chris is a miracle-worker. I can go out and try to wreck my body rowing, cycling, running, or whatever. In one session with Chris, I'm always well on my way to recovery. There is virtually no part of me that he hasn't fixed--from aching feet to sore hamstrings to tight shoulders to (formerly) persistent hip pain. Rather than just giving the same generic one-massage-fits-all, he responds to my specific requests and has fixed and re-fixed all these trouble areas and more. I put my money where my words are: I've seen him weekly for over two years. I simply would not be able to have as athletic a life as I have without him."

Karl Gerth,

Soft tissue & Articulation Techniques

Manipulation is performed to restore joint play at dysfunctional joints. It is thought to work by:

·         Releasing entrapped synovial folds or plica

·         Relaxing hypertonic muscles
